Claire's New Face Operation

Hello!

My name is Claire, and I’m a trans person trying to pay for Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS). I've been out and medically transitioning publicly for two years now. This surgery is a huge step and incredibly important to me for several reasons. A more feminine appearing face would help people assume my correct gender at a glance, keep me safer from overt transphobia, and most of all help me feel comfortable in my own skin (lessening my gender dysphoria).

I've started this fund because my insurance does not cover FFS; they don’t consider it “medically necessary” despite the significant improvements in mental health and safety it offers.

I've saved quite a bit already, but unfortunately the surgery costs more than expected. I’m hoping to raise $20,000 by the beginning of June ahead of the June 30th surgery date. This would help pay for a little under half the cost of the surgery. No funds from here will be used to pay for anything else.
