WINNIPEG, Oct. 31, 2018 - Claire de Guzman left her home and loved ones in the Philippines to pursue her family's dream of starting a life together in Canada.
Claire traveled alone to The Pas, Manitoba where she found employment at Tim Hortons and worked for over a year and a half. Tragically she suffered a stroke, was hospitalized and later passed away (last week) on her birthday.
Claire leaves behind her 13-year-old daughter, husband and family in the Philippines who wish to provide a simple funeral to commemorate the life of a loving mother, wife and gentle spirit.
The fund is overseen by Angel Tomas (Claire's cousin) and Diwa Marcelino (Migrante Manitoba). All withdrawals will be given directly to the family through a special joint bank account.
