Hi, my name is Steph and I am currently helping my Auntie Debbie with this gofundme to raise funds after the sudden passing of my lovely Cousin Claire. Please read Debbie's plea below...

Our beloved Claire recently passed away on the 4th April 2026. On Sunday 29th March Claire suffered a catastrophic bleed on the brain which sadly she could not survive.

Claire was a wonderful Mum, wife, daughter, sister, auntie, grandaughter, niece, cousin and friend, who touched the lives of those who were lucky enough to know her.

Claire was diagnosed with type one diabetes at the age of 8 which meant being in and out of hospital from a young age. Unfortunately Claire then developed kidney failiur around 7 years ago which quickly became end stage. Claire had spent the last 5 years on the transplant list but due to her rare blood group and 100% antibodies this meant for every 10,000 people only 2 would be a match. Claire spent every other day on dialysis which meant she was missing out on a "normal" life with her husband Damien and two young children Ileana age 12 and Elodie age 2. Claire's story was shared in the M.E.N back in November 2025 in the hope of raising awareness and a last ditch attempt at finding a donor. All Claire wanted was a life where she could be the mum she wanted to her girls and to create memories like any other young family instead of being hooked up to a machine for 4+ hours every other day. One of Claire's wishes was to be able to take her family on a holiday abroad, unfortunately this is something that she wasn't able to do before her sudden and unxpected passing.

We are all devastated by the loss of Claire. Unfortunately due to Claire's condition she wasn't able to get life insurance. This leaves her family struggling to cover the high costs of the funeral service.

As a family we would like to give Claire the celebration of life she truly deserves, to honor her memory and say our final goodbyes.

I am currently asking for donations to help towards the cost of Claire's funeral with the hope that any funds left over will mean her husband can take some extra time off work to spend with his girls without having to worry about the financial strain.
