Hi Everyone!
If you don't know us already we're Philip Careless and Matt Ireland, two enthusiastic and stunningly handsome friends from Ontario, and we're interested in raising funds for conservation. A few years ago Phil purchased some land on the beautiful Head River which he painstakingly restored over several years from a damaged and polluted area with many invasive species to a thriving wetland paradise. Recently some land has come up for sale adjacent to his property, known locally as Wildcat Swamp, which is in desperate need of conservation. This land includes beaver ponds, rock barrens, old growth White pines and many provincially rare species. Many species call this area home from Bobcats and Black Bears to Orchids and Otters.
Phil and I have started to survey this amazing area and so far we have found over 550 different species which includes:
125 species of Plants
23 species of Reptiles and Amphibians
12 species of Mammals
328 species of Insects
We will continue to use our time to find, photograph, and document the incredible diversity of life that inhabits this area in the hopes of building support for Wildcat Swamp.
Our hope is that we can raise money to help purchase this land which will then be donated to a Land Trust for protection. Every dollar raised will go directly to purchasing land for conservation as we have no administrative or advertising fees that often eat away at funds donated to other conservation organizations.
With your help we hope that we can raise enough funds to protect the amazing organisms that live within the Wildcat Swamp.
Please let us know if you have any questions and thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Phil and Matt
