Hi, my name is Xander Brouillette, and I compete in Alpine Ski Racing. I first started ski racing in the 2016/17 season when my Aunt enrolled me into the Bryce Resort Ski Team. Two years later, I improved enough to make it onto the State team, and I had the opportunity to compete in the U16 Eastern Finals at Waterville Valley Resort. After competing, I saw that there was a ski academy in Waterville Valley, and I decided that it was time to take the next step. I applied to the Waterville Valley Academy in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire for the ski season of 2018/19 and my sophomore year of high school. I started with a 3.8 GPA and over 400 points in Slalom and GS. At the end of the school year, I had a 4.06 GPA, and I was able to lower my points in Slalom and GS to 197 in both. As of the 2019/20 ski season, I applied to and was accepted to a ski academy in Alta Badia, Italy. Ski racing by itself is a VERY expensive sport, but because I am still in school, attending a ski academy adds even mores costs. With this being said, all of the money I raise 100% goes towards school tuition, living expenses, ski equipment, ski training, and racing registration fees. The current break down is the following: tuition, living expenses, and training fees = $27,000; ski camps during the year = $8,000; and equipment that includes skis, ski wax, bindings, boots, race suit, helmet, poles, protective gear, etc. = $8,000. Your generous contribution will not only help me improve in my academics, but it will ultimately help me chase my dream of competing at the highest level in Alpine Ski Racing. I am hoping to one day compete in the Winter Olympics with a target for the 2026 Olympics. For me...this would be a dream come true!
