Death of Jimmy, our Daughter’s Pony

It is with deep sadness and growing concern that I share the circumstances surrounding the tragic and unexpected death of our daughter’s Pony, Jimmy who was stabled at eltham palace stables at the time.

Following Jimmy’s passing, a post-mortem examination was conducted due to anomalies that did not align with natural causes.

and concluded his death was pre midnight on 16/07/2025

The results revealed the presence of a prescription-only drug commonly used to treat absence seizures in humans. This drug is not approved for use in Equines and was not prescribed or administered by any veterinary professional involved in Jimmy’s care.

To confirm the presence and nature of the substance, toxicology samples were sent for analysis to laboratories in both the UK and the USA. While this process has been time-consuming, it was essential to ensure accuracy and transparency in identifying the drug involved. The results have reinforced the conclusion that Jimmy’s death was not accidental.

In light of the post mortem and toxicology results the Metropolitan police have now opened an investigation regarding his death.

The veterinarian involved in the post mortem has confirmed their active cooperation with this investigation, stating that this was not a routine case and that the circumstances surrounding Jimmy’s death are highly unusual.

This has been a devastating experience for my daughter and our family. We are committed to seeking justice and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.
