A good friend of ours, Negar Sarbaz, is about to lose almost everything she has worked so hard for over the last 8 years. We met as customers and then, after standing around, we found we had a lot in common and became fast friends.
She owns and operates Throw It, an axe-throwing establishment in the Gaslamp district of San Diego since 2018. Y'all know that Covid hit, and even during that time, they limped through the closures and decrease in business, taking all the precautions to keep her patrons safe while still trying to maintain her livelihood.
Even though she is right by Petco Park, there has been a sharp decline in business compounded by the fact that parking in the Gaslamp is just a pain. She's facing losing her business. She's poured all of her savings into the business and is now on the brink of losing not just her beloved company, but also her home.
Recently, she fell and was hurt badly, rupturing disks in her neck and back. Her insurance isn't covering all of her medical treatments, and she was forced to take time off from working. She had to hire staff that she can't really afford to keep her business doors open. She's been relying on any help she can to take care of her two boys, which is extra hard since she's completely a hands-on mom.
If you know Negar, you know she is an amazing mom to two boys and has always been a positive influence on her community and at her church, with the youth group. She gives her all to everyone around her, and now that she needs the help, it's our turn to help lift her up.
