A few words from John
In 2018 I married Pamela Watson, the woman of my dreams and we have been living our best life until 2022 arrived. This year has not been kind to my wife in January she was turned down for an individual health insurance policy, in February she started getting sick and in March she was diagnosed with a very rare brain cancer called “Glioblastoma” or GBM. The original mass was discovered deep in her brain where the Neurosurgeon said he could not remove it. He did do a biopsy and the oncologist and neurosurgeon told us there were also multiple tumors and that most people diagnosed with this type of cancer are given approximately 18 months to live, but because Pamela’s brain was already swelling and shifting her time has been significantly reduced. Because Pamela does not have insurance they are transferring us to Ochsner LSU Cancer Treatment Center and they are telling us that we will be doing 6-8 weeks of Chemotherapy/Radiation treatment and they’ve also told us that one treatment can be $5-10,000 per treatment plus expenses going back and forth to Shreveport and any overnight expenses. After we complete this stage of treatment she will begin taking cancer drugs that are also not cheap. We do have a savings, but that money may have already been spent with all the MRI’s and CAT scans that she’s already had plus the biopsy surgery, tests and nights in the hospital. My wife and I are scared of what’s ahead of us, shocked that this is even happening to us and unsure of how we’re going to pay for this.
My name is Michele Evans, I am from West Monroe LA. Pamela & John Watson are my best friends. The money will be used to pay her medical bills accrued. I have opened a special account with a ein number for funds arrived on their behalf. I will get a cashier check from bank & present to her & her family in a small ceremony.
