Hello! Welcome to my GoFundMe! My name is Nicole Conroy. I am a 33 year old school teacher who is struggling right now. I have Chronic Kidney Disease, IgAnephropathy, PCOS, and bariatric issues. I have had multiple surgeries due to my kidney disease. I was diagnosed with CKD in March of 2022. Through that time to present day I have had one fistula in my left arm placed. This failed and I had to have an AV Graft placed in my left arm. My graft failed after a year. I have recently had a fistula placed in my right arm, however when they did the second surgery to lift it to the surface, the incision split open down to the muscle and fistula. I now have a wound vac and have to see wound care three days a week. I also do dialysis three times a week using a catheter in my chest. Due to my surgeries failing or not working I have gone through 27 catheters to date.

I am also a bariatric patient. At one point I was 464 pounds, I am now 202 pounds. I did have complications with my surgery though. I had my gastric bypass in June of 2024. I then began feeling ill and wound up in the hospital for 2 weeks due to an ulcer. They also did not give me dialysis for 5 days and I ended up getting blood poisoning and was very ill. I then went to a rehabilitation center for another 2 weeks. This caused me to miss the first month of school. I have since recently as of May 2025 had to have another bypass surgery to remove a stricture that formed from that ulcer. During this hospital stay I lost consciousness for a few minutes and CPR was performed.

Because of the wound vac placement, multiple surgeries, and fear of infection I have been unable to work since April 2025. Due to these absences I am struggling to make my bills, rent, and hospital payments. I am deeply saddened to ask for help, and it is something I struggle with doing.
