Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters,
It is with great pleasure that I announce my acceptance into the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana, Cuba. I am truly thankful for the support that I have received thus far to help me make it to this point in my life. However, the journey has only just begun.
In addition, I am extremely grateful and immensely blessed to have been awarded a full scholarship which covers tuition, room and board. Nevertheless, due to economic deficiencies and limited access to common resources in Cuba, there will still be major costs incurred to obtain daily necessities, communication with loved ones, and travel back and forth to the US.
All in all, I am looking forward to this amazing international experience filled with sacrifice for the betterment of improving the health of people worldwide, with a strong focus on underserved communities. I am asking for the support of my family and friends to minimize the financial stress on my parents during the next six years. I thank everyone in advance for your contribution and support.
