Noah's Run

Noah Moudy and his twin, Sydney, have been running all of their lives. As military children, missionary kids, and running athletes, they have never known a life that wasn't constantly at pace.

Noah started running track and field and cross country in 8th grade and simply picked up the pace that he always felt in life. Noah has loved the sport ever since, and the sport has loved him back. Always striving and pushing to be the best that God created in him, and on top of his fun-loving personality and genuine heart for people, Noah has achieved much athletically and in everything in life that he has pursued.

On March 25 at 3:30 in the afternoon, Noah's run slowed to a crawl. Noah experienced a brain stroke that immediately paralyzed his left side and took most of his vision. The next two hours were a terrifying rush of events focused on one thing, Noah's survival. But everything that had to happen to ensure this, happened perfectly. Fifteen minutes after the onset of the stroke, Noah was receiving outstanding care by an amazing medical team. Forty-five minutes after the event, he had undergone a CT scan, an MRI, been diagnosed with a stroke, and had a clot-busting medication administered. Forty-five minutes later, he was airlifted to St. Dominic's Stroke Center in Jackson, MS.

God determined that Noah's run wasn't finished. Six hours after Noah's stroke, his clot was gone. An incredible ICU team poured themselves into Noah's care, closely monitoring and responding to anything that could compromise his recovery. Because of the people that God placed Noah in the care of, 24 hours after his event, Noah could move his fingers and wiggle his toes. After 36 hours, Noah had 40% mobility returned and full vision restored. After 48 hours, he walked 15 ft with the help of a walker and his therapist.

Noah received the best news of his life the second morning after his stroke... he was expected to make a full recovery. He also received an answer to why a perfectly healthy 19-year-old experienced what he had. Noah has a small hole in his heart, which everyone is born with, but his never closed in infancy. He was also diagnosed with a clotting disorder. Neither are inherently dangerous on their own, but together they can lead to exactly what happened to Noah.

With physical therapy and heart surgery still to come, he still has many long, difficult days ahead to achieve a "full recovery," but Noah is a runner, and he will run again, because his God has called him to strive, and achieve, and be the best that He created him to be.

This GoFundMe is to help cover the medical expenses for the two hospitals, the air ambulance, the heart surgery, and the physical therapy.
