Hello, thank you for reading this and your consideration for donation.
Jimmy is a 59yo widower, who lost his wife Lisa on 12/12/2020 from a long battle with cancer. We are living in downtown CDA (I'm sure you've seen our bikes parked on Foster. Jimmy also served in the infantry in the US Army. Now he is employed with Empire Aerospace in Hayden. He is the father of 5 and has 8 grandchildren.
He is active in the Coeur d'Alene Arts and Culture. Jimmy also holds a benefit crawfish boil for the community, the Saturday before Memorial Day for the past 9 years. All proceeds benefiting the Coeur d'Alene Arts and Culture Alliance.
For the past 6yrs, he has introduced the 3rd grade class(es) at Sorensen elementary to Louisiana Crawfish!
He is an active member of the CDA Eagles as well.
On Saturday, August 28th at approximately 515pm, Jmmy was riding home on his new bike, Ms Lisa, and a large pickup turned left, DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF HIM! He was transported by ambulance. Upon arrival, they found a 59% tear in his spleen, broken right leg, several broken ribs, broken shoulderblade, as well as dislocated and broken toes and finally a broken wrist and 1 finger.
We expect him to be off work from 6-8wks. No weight bearing, AT ALL and I am going to be his primary caregiver.
Anything you can do to help, would be appreciated. We are also setting up a link for the meal train! https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/6d5rlq
Thank you and God Bless,
Jimmy Karen
