Hi my name is Terry and like us all over the last few years, I've found life challenging.
For many reasons 2022 was a really bad year for me and my family. Christmas just did not feel the same.
It was here when a very good friend of mine came up with the idea to buy Christmas dinner for a nominated family to help them. I liked the idea of this and joined him. We helped 3 families thanks to others who also donated. For me and my friend, it made our Christmas. We then received a thank you video from one of the families. That video was from a brave little boy called CJ saying thank you to my friend while he tucked into a box of sweets we got as part of the shopping. It gave me such a lump in my throat and put into perspective how lucky I am.
About CJ :
CJ is a 6-year-old boy who last year was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called diffuse leptomeningeal glioneuronal tumour.
Unfortunately, there is no cure for this and chemo can only stabilise it.
CJ is currently in the process of having intense chemotherapy treatment spaced over 18 months, my goal is to try and have something CJ can look forward to each time his treatment ends.
Now, I feel compelled to do more and put an even bigger smile CJ'S face. I asked CJ'S mum for a wish list and all CJ'S reply was he wanted to go LEGOLAND hotel with his family. I have started a big raffle to raise the funds to get CJ and his family there, but with overwhelming support to make it easier, I have set this page up.
I then had to go through a question-and-answer session to find out his interests to add more to a wish list.
CJ likes football, one of his favourite teams is Southampton, and of course, his favourite player is James Ward-Prowse. I managed to get a home shirt signed by all the players and professionally framed.
He also likes Chelsea, his favourite player for them is Reece James, but as of yet I've had no joy in contacts to sort anything. I'm not giving in though.
CJ loves anything work-related so I have also organised a trip to drive a train and visit an operating terminal when he is fit enough.
I have also given CJ a railway safety book in advance which has been signed with a personal message for the author.
As you can see, I've made a good start, but still a way to go. Please donate whatever you can as every little helps. Thank you all for the support to help complete CJ'S WISH list
*edited due to the high response on this page and direct to me, id like to now aim to take CJ and his family not only to legoland but also on a holiday that will make great memories for them all*
- edited due to a treatment change CJ is not able to go away from home for long periods of time so we have had to put days out and nights away on hold.
- we are focusing on the now, we want to make CJ's garden a safe and fun place for him to invite friends round to play, this is now our focus at the moment
