As some of you know, our sweet boy CJ (AKA Bobby) was diagnosed with nasal carcinoma (cancerous tumor in the nostril) in early January. Thankfully after CJ's biopsy, x-rays of his chest, and aspiration of his lymph nodes, his oncologist gave us positive news that it has not metastasized. Since the tumor is localized, and in CJ's best interest, we are currently looking at radiation treatment instead of chemotherapy (following his CT scan to gain more knowledge about the size & location of the tumor).

 

CJ's mommy and caregiver (my sister), funds and manages all CJ's appointments, and the oncology department quoted $15,000 for the CT scan and radiation alone. With mortgage payments, bills and no vet insurance (too expensive at CJ's age of 9-years old), you can imagine coming up with $15,000 (on top of $3,500 already spent) on a whim isn't easy. My sister doesn't want to base her decision on costs--but instead on what option will be in the best interest of CJ.
