On February 15th, my mom went into surgery for a routine knee replacement. During surgery, the surgeon broke her kneecap. For the next 5 weeks, my mom wasn't having a normal recovery. My mom couldn't move her leg and knew something was terribly wrong. My mom who is generally healthy and athletic for her age has been confined to a wheelchair for over 5 months now.

My mom plays guitar and sings with large groups of pre-school kids. She has not been able to work the same hours given her recovery timeline. She is determined to dance with the kids again!
