My name is Janice Durden, and I am humbly asking for assistance in final arrangements for my loving husband and absolute best friend, Marvy "Heston" Durden. Marvy, or Heston as his family called him, passed away after an extended battle with heart failure onset by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and Long QT syndrome. Marvy had been in and out of hospitals for years, and his final hospital stay was nearly two months long. In early February, Marvy was blessed with a heart transplant, but unfortunately there were many complications, and his body never fully recovered. A stroke last week that led to bleeding on the brain resulted in Marvy being declared braindead. Our family made the hardest decision of our lives when we decided to end Marvy's suffering, and give him dignity in death by removing him from the multiple support machines that were keeping him alive. Marvy passed into eternal rest surrounded by family and loved ones.
Sadly, this is not the only tragedy my family has recently experienced. On Christmas morning, Marvy and I lost our daughter, Scarlett, to Sudden Cardiac Death. That horrific event, along with extended hospital stays with long trips from Alabama to Emory Hospital in Atlanta, have drained our financial resources, and we are asking for help to make the final arrangements for Marvy.
Needless to say, our family is shattered after the loss of Marvy and Scarlett. Marvy leaves behind two other children to whom he was a hero. These funds will help relieve some of the stress and horror of this situation as my family slowly picks up the pieces and enters into this new reality of life without Marvy and Scarlett. We would be exponentially grateful if you would consider donating today.
Thank You
