It has been an honor to love other people's children all my life. In my personal life, as well as in my career as a social worker, I have seen the power of love work through children and families again and again. One day I hope to have a partner and family, but at this time I have decided that perhaps for me becoming a mother will precede becoming a partner or wife. To reach my goal I need your help.
In 2020-2021, I tried to get pregnant a total of five times - twice at home with Intracervical Insemination (ICI) and three times with Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) at a local reproductive center. Though doctors, nurse practitioners and ultrasounds assure me that my eggs, uterus and other reproductive parts all look age appropriate and good, I have not yet had a positive pregnancy result. It has been a long journey of the heart and body with many mixed emotions and much loving support needed from family and friends alike.
Because of the high cost of necessary blood tests, insemination procedures, donor sperm, medications, etc, I have started a Go Fund Me page. It has been a journey that I attempted to finance myself this last year, but in order to continue and mitigate the financial burden I have decided that I need support.
At this point, each pregnancy attempt costs approximately $1,300. In addition, there are procedures I could elect to have that might aide in my ability to get pregnant, but like other things on this journey they come at a large financial cost. If I am able to get pregnant relatively soon, any surplus funds will no doubt be helpful for prenatal care and any unexpected costs along the way. If I am not, then I will consider In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) if the need arises.
Whatever you are able and willing to gift to this cause, I am grateful. There are so many loved ones throughout my life - adults and children alike - that have made it clear to me that motherhood/parenthood is something worth dreaming of and fighting for. Thank you for sharing your love in this way and helping me work toward this most sacred, long-standing dream.
