Hello my name is Brett I’m an x plumber and handyman helping many people locally without ripping them off and also giving sound advice regarding housing problems doing a lot of little jobs for free especially for the elderly and for people I thought couldn’t really afford it even when sometimes at my own costs I used to love helping out were possible.I’ve been getting worse health wise for the last 10 years now struggling in every way especially with my back and legs then about 7 years ago collapsed outside my backdoor not being able to move my left leg and left arm ambulance arrived took me straight to the nearest hospital were an mri of my whole spine was performed and a consultant told me that I needed an emergency operation on my T7-T8 also my L5-S1 discs as they were pushing on my spinal cord which was giving me the paralysis down my left side .He told me that it would be happening a bit later in the week as this was a very hard surgery as close to the spinal cord it was a risky surgery I was admitted as an inpatient and had more scans and ct scans I was in hospital for about 4-5 days were I did regain my left side functions then a normal consultant came to my bedside and said it was to risky to do operation and then said that I can be discharged because I had got my feeling back and that I would need physio also told me that I had to take it very easy as this could happen again and that there was a risk of severing my spinal cord as you could imagine this wasn’t the news I was hoping for.Three months pass by and yes this happened again another promise of a operation I was then transferred to another hospital was in there for about 4 days then a consultant says sorry we are not prepared to do operation this time I had cauda equina symptoms but was discharged to my dismay . I didn’t even get 2 weeks happened again another promise and told sorry that the NHS will not be doing surgery but the doctor who told me this said that I could have this operation done privately at a cost of around £35.000 I wish I had have him put that in writing but didn’t think at the time time was passing by with me not being able to work over the coming years in and out of hospital possibly about 20 times since then I’ve been diagnosed with various things ie:functional neurological disorder -thrombocytopenia-vascular dementia periphial neuropathy stage four uncontrolled type two diabetes which all of these conditions have taken a toll on me now I feel like I’ve been on a merry go round for the past 6 years had another 3 hospital visits just this year and surgeons still not willing to operate discharging me to physio then physios refusing to help me I now have L1-3-4-5 prolapsed discs with stenosis T7-8-9 also impinging slightly on spinal cord and C3-4 disc bulges I am struggling to walk now and losing the feeling in all four limbs also effecting breathing eating sleeping and on max doses of pain killers which are now not really working great.i did not imagine me being in this predicament at my age of 53.I have lost all hope with the nhs on helping me it is a last shout out for help before I end up in a wheelchair permanently which to be honest it’s not to far away thank you for taking your time reading this
