Family and friends first and foremost I want to thank each and everyone for your continued prayers for my mom and us during this heart-wrenching, unimaginable time.

As many of you may know, my mom, my warrior, Pura Mendez a/k/a NanaWepa was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer on September 2021 which metastasized to her lungs, kidneys and spine. Unfortunately her battle is coming to an end. At this time, while under hospice care at home, surrounded by her family, they have advised us to start preparing for final arrangements.

To know my mom, is to love her. As her daughter, I can tell you that everything I am and stand for is because of all her teachings and values. Her faith - unshakable, it is what she clinged to when she buried her four boys; Peter, Cuchito, Samuel, Charlie. She taught me that no matter what, if we fall, we rise! We never, ever give up! We never went without shelter, clothes or food and of course her undying love and prayers for us.

My mom’s wish is to be buried in New York along with her four children. In our research, to do so, it is extremely costly and although we have some funds, It is not enough to cover all that it entails. We are humbly reaching out for your support.
