My sister Kathy was diagnosed with Stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer soon after returning from her full-time mission in Argentina where she volunteered as the nurse to 250 young missionaries in the Argentina Mendoza Mission. As you can imagine, this was a shock to all of us. Kathy currently lives in San Diego with her daughter. Kathy cannot currently work and her daughters are doing their best to care for her physically, emotionally, and financially.
Me and the rest of Kathy’s siblings all live in New York, and therefore cannot be there for her physically. I am doing this Go Fund Me as a way to show my support and help out Kathy and her daughters during this difficult trial.
Kathy has had multiple surgeries, most recently a double mastectomy, and will have a breast reconstruction done in a few weeks, after which she will begin her 6-8 rounds of chemotherapy.
All the financial responsibility is being placed on her two daughters and I thought this would be a good way to lighten the burden for them, as they are not ones to ask for help; but I figured I would go ahead and try to see if we can help them out a little.
Kathy is the oldest of our 6 siblings and has always been there for us, and now I feel as though it is our turn to express our love and appreciation to her through this wonderful go fund me program.
I am aware that there are probably some of you who have been affected by this horrendous disease; either personally, through a family member or friend, and know how difficult it can be.
We sure do love and appreciate everyone’s support, comfort, and prayers. We love you Kathy!
