You have been praying and believing with us for this vision for 3 years, and now we are finally stationed in Accra, Ghana. It's happening!

Your generosity , prayers and support thus far have made it possible to complete phase 1 of the building project.

We completed in Phase 1:

The purchase of a ministry vehicle truck
Pay for 10 acre of the land
Purchase farming supplies
Get all 100 acres surveyed
Demarcate the entire land
Get a topography survey completed for the 10 acres

The City of God Sacred Heart Refuge Community will be one of prayer, faith, hope, love, and service for the poor, needy, and broken, baptizing them in God's love. Our vision is to clothe and feed our Lord Jesus Christ, under the guise of the poor, especially the children. Now that the land was purchased, we will need to clear out trees, shrubs, and grass. The way to access the land right now is by hiking approximately 1.5 miles, however, we have delineated 3 possible routes that can be cleared for road access.

We will also need a water source on and for the land.

Henceforth, the goal of phase 2 is to make and clear out a road to the land, prepare 2 acres for farming and on the remaining 8 acres, begin building!

The cost of renting construction equipment in Ghana is very high and that is why we are asking and set this budget, which will help cover and complete this second phase of the project.

PHASE 2 ENTAILS :

Clearing 10 acres

Rent a Bulldozer
Rent a tractor
Plowing (we have to do it twice)
Harrowing
Ridging
Manual Labor to help clear the shrubs
Agronomist services

Preparation for 2 acres of farming

We have to buy:

Seeds
Fertilizer
Agrochemicals
Spraying machines
Have storage of materials and equipment
Rent housing for farm labor who will help manage the farm in our absence until we can finally build housing on the land
Laborers for the farm
Pumps for irrigation
Pipes for water distribution
Tanks for water storage
(2) Bore well

Family, in Ghana renting a bulldozer and a driver per acre will cost roughly $565, and we have to do 10 acres which will be in the vicinity of $5652. These charges include fuel costs, which may rise a bit more for transportation of the tractor, depending on the distance to the land location. We also need at least 2 bore wells which are $3,000 each if we have to dig 200 kilometers but only $2,000 if we don’t.

So the first piece of equipment, the bulldozer, will be used to clear the current vegetation on the land (trees, shrubs, grass) which will provide a clear field for the next stages of labor.

The tractor will then follow up with;

The plow; to turn up the soil, which will be done twice.
The harrow; will break up clods of soil into a fine tilth.
The ridger; will be used in creating the seed beds for planting.
We also have to pay for manual labor to help clear shrubs and transplants. We will employ the locals to help

Again, being full-time missionaries we live off the Lord's providence through generous donors like yourselves. We support over 72 different people and organizations every month and are generous to those who need help. We take care of the poor first and whatever is left goes towards this cause and we really need your help to get this second phase now completed.
