Dear Supporter,
Thank you for your interest in Citizens of the World, Inc. (COWI). We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing supplemental educational and recreational experiences for youth and families across Massachusetts. Our work began in 2010, and we formally incorporated in 2015.
Since launching our first HBCU Northeast Tour in April 2022, COWI has introduced students to the rich legacy, culture, and academic excellence of Historically Black Colleges and Universities through immersive, multi-state tours.
2022- Visited Cheyney and Lincoln Universities (PA); Morgan State, Coppin State, Bowie State, and Howard University (MD/DC), including a visit to the Great Blacks in Wax Museum.
2023- Took 30 students from schools across Cambridge, Boston, Springfield, and beyond to HBCUs stretching as far south as Atlanta, including Delaware State, Hampton, Fayetteville State, Clark Atlanta, Morris Brown, Morehouse, Spelman, and Howard.
2024- Traveled with 44 students to Cheyney University, Delaware State, Virginia State, North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central University, UNC Greensboro, and Howard University.
2025- Flew from Boston to Atlanta and chartered a bus to visit HBCUs in Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, and New Orleans, including a powerful visit to the Legacy Museum in Alabama.
We are now preparing for our 5th HBCU Tour in April 2026
We are seeking support to help offset costs for students and families in need. Your contribution—at any level—helps reduce financial barriers and ensures equitable access for students eager to participate.
We invite you to donate if you are able. Every gift makes a meaningful difference.
