The Satilla River holds a special place in the heart of our community. It is where we gather for baptisms, where our children learn to swim, where anglers cast their lines in hope of catching redbreast. Families come to this serene area to recreate, draw inspiration, and find solace in nature's embrace. For many of us, whether we reside within the watershed or come from beyond, the river's stunning beauty, with its inviting sandbars and scenic views, offers an unparalleled sense of peace and relaxation.

However, this cherished natural treasure is under threat. A development plan aims to establish a poultry facility with 60 (SIXTY) chicken houses right on the banks of the Satilla River in Douglas, Georgia. This not only jeopardizes the environmental integrity of the river, but also the cultural and recreational significance it holds for our community.

Unfortunately, the avenues to stop this project and protect our river through various government agencies is quite difficult. We therefore have been tasked with engaging in the legal process to protect the Satilla River and areas that will be affected by this large scale poultry operation. Please help us as we have retained a great legal team and group that is working tirelessly for you and all the generations to come .
