A devastating fire completely destroyed the INO Projects Ltd (It's Not Ok Projects), West Marketplace at Durack this morning (28 Nov 2025), wiping out a facility that has been a lifeline for thousands of people across Brisbane’s western suburbs. Since we first occupied the building at 152 Freeman Road in 2019, we have been able to expand our support and provide 20–30 tonnes of free fruit, vegetables, bread and milk every single week to those in need. More than 10,000 individuals and families access our services each month, relying on this space for essential food relief, stability, and dignity in difficult seasons. The loss of the building, contents and stock represents not just damage to a structure or an organisation, but a direct impact on the wellbeing of our community.
West Marketplace has always been more than a food hub. Every week, over 100 volunteers create a place of connection, empowerment, and practical help through community programs and multicultural community initiatives. This has been a safe space where people find support, friendship, and pathways forward. As we face the long road of recovery and rebuilding, we are asking for your support. Every contribution, large or small, helps us stand with our local community and continue the mission that has shaped this place from the beginning. Our city needs Marketplace so every financial contribution towards to the rebuilding of a resource and a community is greatly appreciated.
