Shelter Transport Animal Rescue Team (START Rescue) is a 501C3 non-profit, award-winning rescue group, rescuing animals from overcrowded high-kill Southern and Central California shelters. By organizing huge rescue transport missions, START Rescue saves up to 135 animals each month, from high-kill shelters in and near L.A.

 

START Rescue also takes on small-scale rescue missions in Californian deserts, Mexico, Skid Row, and more. These are animals discovered living in extraordinarily dire situations where they are suffering from neglect and abuse, have been abandoned, broken, sick, and/or are barely living on the streets.

 

START Rescue is also working to SPAY and NEUTER as many animals as possible in and near L.A., focusing on low-income, high-kill areas.
