Cathrine lost her battle with cancer.... but will never be lost from our hearts...

Cathrine Westergaard is a single mom of a 9 year-old boy named Jaeden, with a beautiful, kind spirit, who is the love of her life. She is an incredibly special woman and human being; that is a friend, artist, mentor, filmmaker, photographer, and businesswoman.
Cathrine has changed many people's lives by being a generous and compassionate person who champions the underdog and fiercely believes in the people she loves.
On her birthday, Monday December 8th, Cathrine was admitted to Beth Israel Hospital with an infection in her stomach. On Tuesday December 9th, Cathrine had an emergency surgery to remove cysts from both her ovaries and a tumor from her colon.
Cathrine has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized to her liver and lymph nodes. Her colon was perforated and had a tumor. In addition, both of her ovaries contained tumors. She underwent surgery to remove her colon and both ovaries to eliminate the tumors. She is still recovering from that surgery and won't be able to start treatment for the cancer for a few weeks. The Doctors say that the liver disease cannot be treated with surgery, therefore a palliative course of chemotherapy is the most likely course of treatment.
She is a fighter, who knows how to survive and has the will and determination to win this.
Cathrine has not been able to work for a considerable amount of time, even prior to her admittance to the hospital on her birthday. She has a lot of pride and it's impossible for her to openly ask for help. (It is incredibly difficult for strong, independent people to ask for help). However, please do not allow that to stop you from reaching out and showing your support however you can.
All money donated will go directly to making sure that Cathrine receives the best treatments possible and She is able to take of Jaeden as needed while she is recovering.
