Paloma is a playful and curious 11-month-old chihuahua pup from Guerrero, Mexico, born with a severe genetic knee dislocation that requires surgery. She lived in a loving home in Mexico, but

they did not have the means or proper hospitals to perform the surgery. She came into our home in February so that we could give her a second chance to gain her independence and complete

mobility. Without the surgery, she will most likely lose mobility in her leg and will be in constant pain in the long run.

We didn´t expect her surgery to be as expensive as it turned out to be, but since she has the worst case of knee dislocation, the surgery is more complicated than those with lesser grades.

The preoperative tests and the surgery will come out to be about €1,000. My husband and I have humble jobs and cannot afford to do the surgery right away, but the veterinarian advised that this should be done as soon as possible.

Paloma es una cachorra chihuahua, intrepida y juguetona, de 11 meses. Nació con una luxación de rodilla severa, probablemente genética, que requiere cirugía. Viene de una casa de

Guerrero, México, donde la querían mucho, pero no tenían ni los medios ni los centros veterinarios adecuados para realizar la cirugía.

Vino a nuestro hogar en febrero para poder darle una segunda oportunidad para recobrar su independencia y movilidad completa. Sin la cirugía, perderá movilidad en su pata y estará en dolor constante.

No esperábamos que la cirugía fuese tan cara, pero al tener el grado más avanzado de luxación, es una cirugía compleja. Las pruebas preoperatorias y la cirugía tendrán un coste aproximado de €1,000.

Mi marido y yo tenemos trabajos humildes y no podemos pagar la cirugía de inmediato, pero la veterinaria nos ha recomendado hacerlo cuanto antes, ya que esto solo va a peor.
