San Andres, Island - Caribbean- February 2022.
"- When I was born, I had to suffer many different things; I got too many fleas and ticks, and I even thought I would die with my little brothers from malnutrition.
After spending many days of hunger with my little brother Fettuccini, some people came to rescue me! A foundation called Danino from Medellin, or well, I think so! I was so young that I don't remember everything that happened to me very well. I remember traveling from the Island of San Andrés and Providencia in the Caribbean to Medellín, Colombia. They gave me many medications, bathed me a few times, and fed me well. I was happy to know someone would take care of me; my mom and several brothers had stayed on the island.
I was taken to live with my little brother Fettuccini for approximately three weeks until one of my parents had to travel for his studies. The Danino Foundation introduced me to who my future parents were going to be at that time. my little tail kept moving to one side and the other from meeting my 2 future parents; I was going to have two dads. The sad part of this story with them is that my parents decided to return me and my little brother and the foundation once again. They could not have us at home and take care of Us anymore. It was sad to know they would no longer be our parents.
A few weeks later, they called one of my parents. The call was from the foundation telling him that two other guys were coming from a distant country who wanted to meet me and maybe adopt me. Again my little tail did not stop moving from one side to another; "-it is too happy "-But my little brother? I wondered. Maybe they'll adopt us both", I thought. I waited a week to meet other people who could be my future parents again. The day came when my little brother and I were able to meet them, we were delighted, but I did not understand what was happening to Us; we were like three months old. These two guys decided to only adopt me my little brother would continue looking for another family; it was the hardest thing ever to say goodbye to my brother.
My new family loves me and loves me very much; they decided to bring me to live with them in a country called Canada; I don't know how to spell it or even where it is located on the map. What I know is that it was an almost 17 hours trip in a kind of tiny house made of cloth in which they carried me over an airplane and three airports until I reached what was going to be my new home! I arrived in a country far away from where I was born, on that cute island in the Caribbean, and also far away from my little brother; I couldn't smell his sense anymore.

Here is when I met my first new Frind Willow; she was a rescued dog from the USA, as well, and she taught me many things, from how to wave my tail to people to play and run in the mountains; she is like my cousin, I can Say. I was happy because of my two new dads; they fed me very well and pet me all day long, which I loved. I am a very healthy and happy paw; they treat me as part of the family and take me on the train with them to go to the beach and camp with some friends.
My first Playdate with my friend Willow
My first time in a Canadian National Park- June 2022
My first time on the beach - July 2022
A little while ago, one day, I was playing at home with my parents; they were throwing a yellow ball ( i think it is a tennis ball) and I jumped so high that I fell on my leg and I broke it, it hurts a lot!. My parents did not know I broke my leg because I kept walking and playing over the days, and they thought it should be something muscular; my leg was fixed, stopped to hurt, and I could play and run once again. A couple of weeks after I played, my legs started to hurt, so my parents needed to take me to the Vet here in Canada to check my paw.
Since that, I have been waiting For Orthopedic surgery; my leg hurts a lot, especially when it is cold Outside.
The first day I landed in Canada, on May 28th, my parents paid a subscription with Fetch Pet insurance, and they were supposed to pay for everything when I got sick, but this is not the case. For any reason, the insurance will not cover the surgery, and my parents need to pay the total price by themselves. My parents and I are launching this campaign on GoFoundme to collect as much money as we need for the surgery.
If you can help with any donation, my family and I will appreciate it.
Your Donation, BIG or small, is invaluable for US.
Best,
Piscis Rubio Betancur & Parents ❤️
