Hola, soy Mely.

Mi mamá, Guille, es la persona más fuerte que conozco.

Desde que tengo memoria, ha sido el pilar de nuestra familia. Ella nos ha sacado adelante a mi hermana Liz y a mí con amor, sacrificio y una fuerza que admiro profundamente. Siempre encontraba la manera de trabajar más, de esforzarse más, de darnos lo mejor, incluso cuando ella tenía poco.

Durante 11 años ha trabajado en la misma panadería. Es un trabajo muy pesado, con jornadas largas, poco sueldo y sin seguro ni contrato. Aun así, nunca se quejó. Siempre siguió adelante por nosotras.

Pero después de una vida entera de esfuerzo físico y desgaste, su cuerpo finalmente dijo “ya basta”.

Le diagnosticaron dos hernias cervicales que están poniendo en peligro su motricidad y sensibilidad. Actualmente ya está afectado todo el lado derecho de su cuerpo, y si no se opera pronto, el lado izquierdo también podría verse comprometido.

Los médicos nos han dicho que si logramos que la cirugía se realice en la próxima semana, podría salir del quirófano con una mejoría del 50%, y con rehabilitación recuperar en los próximos meses la fuerza y sensibilidad que ha perdido.

Pero si nos demoramos, el daño puede volverse irreversible e incluso dejarla paralítica.

Aún estamos a tiempo de salvar su movilidad.

Mi hermana Liz y yo estamos haciendo todo lo posible para reunir el dinero necesario. Como mi mamá no cuenta con seguro médico y necesita la cirugía de manera urgente, el costo total es de 300,000 pesos mexicanos.

My mom, Guille, is the strongest person I know.

Ever since I can remember, she has been the pillar of our family. She raised my sister Liz and me with love, sacrifice, and a strength I deeply admire. She always found a way to work harder, to give more, to give us the best she could — even when she had very little for herself.

For 11 years, she has worked at the same bakery. It’s physically demanding work, with long hours, low pay, and no insurance or contract. Still, she never complained. She kept going, always putting us first.

But after a lifetime of physical strain and constant hard work, her body finally said, “enough.”

She has been diagnosed with two cervical herniated discs that are now affecting her mobility and sensitivity. The entire right side of her body is currently compromised, and if she does not undergo surgery soon, the left side could also be affected.

Doctors have told us that if we can schedule the surgery within the next week, she could leave the operating room with a 50% improvement. With rehabilitation, she may regain the strength and sensation she has lost over the next few months.

However, if we delay, the damage could become irreversible and even lead to paralysis.

We are still in time to save her mobility.

My sister Liz and I are doing everything we can to raise the money needed for her surgery. Because my mom does not have medical insurance and needs this procedure urgently, the total cost is 300,000 Mexican pesos.
