Cirrhosis treatment
Donation protected
In November 2017 I began feeing extremely tired and was exhausted after only walking about 1/2 block as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service
i made an appointment with my primary physician the first week in December 2017 and he ordered blood tests and a call to my cardiologist to check heart function (which came back normal).
the next week the Doctor called and informed me I had Cirrhosis of the liver and it didn’t look too good. He referred me to a Hematologist for additional blood work in order to find the cause (since I do not drink more than 1-2 bottles of beer per week) and also to a Gastroenterologist to treat the cirrhosis until the root cause was found.
The Hemotologist did a blood test called HFE test because my iron levels were so high and the test came back positive for Hereditary Hemochromatosis which was determined that I had for years but the symptoms didn’t show up until it was too late to treat it and the irreversible damage to my liver had already happened.
Where i I am right now is the beginning phase of evaluation so I can be put on the Transplant List for the only thing that can save my life and the Liver Specialist at Methodist Hospital in Dallas says I am getting there quickly.
As part art of the evaluation process ALL infections and any possible thing that could cause damage to a transplanted liver MUST be addressed before going forward. The biggest problem I have is not receiving a paycheck since January 2018 and medical bills out of pocket have used all of my savings and now the dental bills not covered by insurance are in excess of $7500 and could climb higher depending on if some of the treatments have to be redone in order to get past a hurdle.
Please help if you can because now I am at the end of financial resources.
Thank You
