Hi, my name is Vanessa, and I’m humbly reaching out to ask for help on behalf of a beloved family in Circle Pines, MN — my daughter’s Aunt, Uncle, and cousins: Manda, Matt, Melissa, and Mathias, along with their pets, Harlow (dog) and T'Challa (cat).
On the morning of Thursday, August 14th, around 7:00 AM, disaster struck. While the entire family was asleep, a fire broke out in Melissa’s bedroom on the second floor. By what can only be described as the grace of God, Melissa had fallen asleep in the living room the night before after a family movie night. Her bedroom door was closed, which helped contain the flames temporarily.
Mathias smelled smoke but initially assumed someone may have burned breakfast. When he opened Melissa’s bedroom door to investigate, thick smoke burst out, nearly knocking him back. He quickly sprang into action, alerting the family and ensuring that everyone — including their pets — made it out of the house safely. Matt (the father) courageously attempted to contain the fire while they waited for emergency responders.
Sadly, Melissa’s room and all of her belongings were completely destroyed. The smoke and fire suppression chemicals have also caused extensive damage to the living room, bathroom, and the family’s main closet.
At this point, the fire investigation is still ongoing, but it's believed a small fan may have caused the fire.
While the family is incredibly grateful to be alive and safe, they are now faced with the difficult journey of recovery and rebuilding. They were blessed to be able to stay with a generous neighbor, but this is no longer an option. There is a long road ahead before they can return home.
I’m asking for your support to help them cover emergency expenses, replace lost belongings, and secure temporary housing while they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
Anything you can give — no matter how small — will make a difference. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign to help spread the word.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
With love and gratitude,
Vanessa
