CIRCE: Twilight Of A Goddess is a play that begins at the shores of death and tastes the four rivers of the underworld. It is a contemporary story of a woman, once a goddess stranded at the threshold between realms. Her disdain for the society of the living world drove her to find death, but is oblivion the cure she seeks?

ABOUT SIREN ISLAND
Siren Island is a platform for actively re-contextualizing mythology. This floating immersive design project is meant to mimic an undulating rock formation rising from the sea. The island is launched and anchored in different locations for the public to discover and investigate.
The Sirens have been viewed as monsters in mythology. Their story predates their most famous appearance in Homer’s epics by 800 years. To understand why these female creatures were considered monstrous, one must first understand the function of a monster.
A monster is born only at a metaphorical crossroads as an embodiment of a certain cultural moment – of a time, a feeling, and a place. A monster’s body literally incorporates fear, desire, anxiety, and fantasy. If the monster’s body is a cultural body then you can draw a direct line from Greek Civilization, built on misogyny, and their fear of free, untamed, winged, vocal women. Misogyny is a sickness that still plagues us today. Siren Island is a place where the historical monstrification of women is inverted. Our sirens are unapologetic and powerful and offer a safe haven from the sickness of Misogyny.
