A few months ago, Cira Parra (an MS diagnosed patient) after a routine medical checkup with her gynecology, was diagnosed with endometriosis with too many polyps inside the uterus. Three different biopsies were performed with 3 different doctors; they though the polyps were carcinogenic. The doctor (Dr. Millan), and the others agree on a complete Hysterectomy to avoid the development of cancer cells, further complications, and damage.
About Cira
Cira Guadalupe Parra is 58 years old women, living in Caracas, Venezuela. She is a Doctor of Musical Art (College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati, 2006) actively working in the educational and artistic field.
She is a full-time professor of music at the Experimental Pedagogic University Libertador, and also a conductor of two musical groups: the Vocal Group Garúa of the Simón Bolívar University and the Orphean “Juan Bautista Plaza”. In Addition to the universities she educates for, Cira also supervises the choral activity (3 children choirs, one middle and high school choir) of the Emil Friedman School in Caracas.
Her Health
A major complication occurs with the Multiple Sclerosis. Since 2013 she has moved in a wheelchair due to limited mobility. She only received proper medical treatment (Tyzabri or Natalizumab) for this condition until 2016 because the government stopped the acquisition of imported medicine, which is very expensive. She has continued her journey with natural supplements, meditation and, eating more vegetables and fruits.
Her health is getting compromised by the day because of no medical insurance and no public entity/policy will help to cover her surgical expenses with her double condition, much less the after-surgery physical therapy and pharmacological treatments necessary for her lengthy recovery.
Venezuela Challenges
She may have to undergo surgery in Venezuela, where the scarcity of medicine, medical/surgical supplies, power, and electricity is overwhelming. All her neurologists have left the country, as well as her closest family and friends.
The hyperinflation (2,000,000%), the economic and political crisis in the country, with ongoing deteriorating conditions, has brought us to the following scenario: the original quote was for USD $600, after a month, It went up to USD $7,500 (by March 2019). The final quote hasn't been provided yet
The surgery will be taking place next week (1st week of May). Dr. Millan will be leaving the country at the end of the month. (Update: the first week of May, per doctors indications, she needs to do several medical procedures like colonoscopy, brain and column CT scans, mammography and, blood test. If everything goes well, the surgery will be taking place the week after)
Where your money will go:
The goal is to raise $20,000 to help Cira with:
-Surgery, intensive care and hospitalization (Update: on Friday, April 26, we received the updated budget for BsS 96,455,362.26 equivalent to USD 18,912.81)
The remaining money will go towards:
-Live-in home care weekdays
-Helper weekdays
-Care weekend
-Generator $700
-Water tank $300
-Special needs accessories
-Living expenses
More about Cira
Cira is a beloved mother, conductor, teacher, and colleague. Given all these scenarios, she is positive, wants to be healthy and enjoy every second of her life. It would have been completely understandable for her to be bitter or angry, instead, she has spent her days with a smile and hope to be teaching, conducting and singing with the kids, the elders and all, soon. She believes she still has so much music to give and share, to help more students to become good, honest and, prepared professionals.

buenos, honestos y preparados profesionales.
¡Muchas gracias de antemano!
¡Dios los bendiga!
