Hello gofundme.com community, we'd like to introduce you to our friend Cindy Martinez. She is a beautiful, spiritual, and loving person. She is a caring daughter, partner, sister, aunt, nina and friend. She is a fighter, a survivor and a true inspiration.

Seven years ago, Cindy’s first fight with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma ended with Cindy triumphant. She accomplished this with an undying spirit, whereby she claimed her life, so she could continue to live it to the fullest. By her side she had the support of an amazing doctor, friends and family. For five years she was cancer free. What a blessing! What a celebration! But her fight was not over.

About a year and half ago, her second fight came against Endometrial Cancer. She triumphed again with a very aggressive surgery; a complete hysterectomy. Yes, at this point she knew that she would never conceive any children of her own, but she knew that her life and the life she shared with her family and friends would be worth the sacrifice. She resumed enjoying her family, celebrating birthdays and even a few weddings. A sigh of relief, but again her fight was not over.

Unfortunately, a few months ago she became aware of a mass on her neck and decided to have it checked out by her doctor. Sadly, once again she was told to prepare herself for a fight; Hodgkin’s Lymphoma was back. This time, Cindy was recommended to seek the help from the best; MD Anderson. She is currently undergoing aggressive chemotherapy and she will need a stem cell transplant. With this more aggressive treatment, come additional costs. Unfortunately, these expenses are not all covered by insurance. She has to travel round trip from El Paso, TX to Houston, TX. Additionally, she will need to pay for an apartment in the Houston Medical Center for two months at the culmination of her chemotherapy and stem cell transplant.

She is in the middle of this latest battle and she would greatly appreciate your assistance. She has an amazing personality, but is very humble. She would never ask for any assistance, so on behalf of Cindy, her friends from across the country have pledged their assistance and as a result, this page was created.
