If you’re trying to tell the story of a friendship, do you start when the two of you met? For Cindy and I that was
in spring of 2010 after I started working for Exel now DHL Supply Chain and our friendship grew into a sisterhood that has bonded us for life. Where she pushed me for many years to further my career and how without hesitation she has inspired myself and many of our associates to do the same.
Do you start with the beginning of your friend’s life? Cindy was born in 1980, in Fort Worth, Texas, the older
sister of a brother and a sister the daughter of Mexican parents.
Do you start with your friend’s personality? Not only is she a great person, mother of 4, wife, aunt and daughter but also my best friend. Cindy has always been loyal, generous, driven, self-discipline, humble and extremely
smart, frank and funny.
Or do you start the story with the day everything changed? Which was March 5, 2021, a few months after she turned 40th, a few months after she was promoted to a Project Manager. A few months before her oldest would
graduate from High School. This is when Cindy was given a diagnosis of Stage IV-Colon cancer. I still can recall March 5, 2021 when I was being annoying
as normal. Texting and calling Cindy for her to pick up the phone and let me know she was in the hospital. When she
told me what the doctor had found my heart drop, I choked up. I thought about my dear friend, about her kids, about her husband, her parents, her sister and
brother. I thought about all of the people that she had impacted. I thought about me and my heart started to ache a pain that I have never felt before.
As she starts her BATTLE I ask you to PLEASE help me help my best friend. This help is so she can paid for any medical expenses. So she can enjoy whatever time our heavenly father has instill for her. On Tuesday 3/30 she embarked on her Chemotherapy treatment. She is to do 12 rounds of Chemo. I ask that you lift her in your daily prayers, I ask that you keep her sweet family in your prayers. I ask that you help with any amount. The reason for this is to lighten the load and to help Cindy focus on fighting the battle of her life. Me and her family want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
