Cindy’s Double Lung Transplant

Hi my name is Maggie and my mother Cindy received a Double Lung transplant on 2/25/23 after being on the transplant list for two and a half years. We’re so very thankful for this amazing gift of life and a chance for my mom to live a much longer life so we can love on her and she can love on her grandchildren . My mom was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis almost 16 years ago this month and was given a few years to live. Mom fought hard and even moved to Texas to be closer to family as she knew she would need lots of support once she received her transplant. Mom received the life changing phone call at 1:30 pm on Saturday 2/25/23 and our miracle was about to happen. I was in shock and so was mom. After so long we were starting to think it was never going to happen. We arrived at the hospital at 3:30 and had to wait a while for a room and then once we got our room all the test started signing papers ect. and this was getting real. At this point I was still thinking in the back of my head this can still be a dry run. We knew this could be a possibility but we both decided to leave it up to God. Thank god everything was a go and they wheeled mom back to surgery at 8:30 pm and then we wait. Moms surgery took 6 1/2 hours and there were no complications ( thank you lord) then mom was moved to ICU where she spent three days and then we spent the next 6 days healing before being released to go home. I am creating this go fund me to help with all the extra expenses that come along with this wonderful miracle. The money we raise will help with gas and tolls to and from Dallas three times a week. Along with help with her medication co pay on the 15 medications mom has to take daily. Please help if you can.
