Cindy-Lee needs us as we need her ❤️
Cindy-Lee Overton showed up in my life about 5 years ago. Even though it was tough at the beginning, slowly but surely I gathered the reason why she was such a tough teacher of something that I fell madly in love with: West Coast Swing. Yes, her talent was overwhelming! Throughout these years, I learned to love the magic of getting submerged into this my then new passion, the gift of meeting wonderful friends and the incredible privilege of having Cindy as my instructor and later dear friend.
Ever since I have known her, I’ve seen her fighting cancer. My admiration for her has grown throughout all these years, and she is a true inspiration of perseverance and strength beyond belief. Nowadays she is in a real struggle to fight our broken health system and the stage 4 lung cancer that prevent us from having her around to enjoy her strong spirit, her knowledge about dancing, her incredible music ever as the best DJ and her wonderful singing voice, since she is also a ridiculously talented singer.
Her daily nightmare is really overwhelming not t only because of her health situation, but Because of the unthinkable cost of copayments for tests, treatments, transportation to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, and her daily expenses. Meanwhile, the pandemic forced her to shot down her small dancing business for almost 6 months now and counting...
We miss the bliss of dancing, our social dancing parties, the times with our dancing family; but we mainly we miss Cindy-Lee. We need her, but she needs us now. It is our time to give back some of those countless happy moments she has given us for so long. ❤️
