Update 12/22/2016: Cindy’s appointment yesterday revealed some great news--no cancer in her bones or on her kidney. It is still in the upper portion on one side of her lungs and in her brain. She started her chemotherapy this week.
Cindy is in the grip of stage four lung cancer which has metastacized to her brain, hip and kidney. She is currently undergoing chemo and radiation.
I love Cindy so much, she is an awesome mom and her grandbabies mean the world to her. Her family is everything.. she is fiercely loyal! --Debbie
Cindy is my sister-in-law, friend and co-worker. She is as close to me (sometimes closer) as my blood sister. Besides my “sister” I have also worked with her for many years at a bank and now here at Evergreen Home Loans. She makes work fun with her great sense of humor and feisty, spicy personality. She is always ready to lend a helpful hand whenever asked. I really have never worked with anyone more fun and upbeat. Besides being my sister-in-law, friend and co-worker I have told her and others that she is my “Angel”. She has come to my rescue many times – sometimes when I have needed to borrow money unexpectedly – always there for me with no questions asked. She is, by far, the most caring and generous person I have ever known. She’s always grateful and content with what she has--not wanting or needing more. I so much admire that quality about her. I never hear her say negative things about anyone. She loves and cares about everybody putting the needs of others above her own and never expecting anything in return.
She really doesn’t want this Fund set up for her and would not agree to it – I told her that we did not need her permission to set it up. I explained that it was not just a site for people to donate money but a way for them to show their support for her during this most unexpected difficult time in her life. That’s the type of person she is. She is used to being the one who is lending the helping hand, not the one needing it!
Please show your support for Cindy and her family during this most difficult time in their life. Her treatments over the next 6 months are expensive and as everyone knows – her insurance will not cover all of it.
Even though this “bad news” came upon Cindy very suddenly & without warning, she remains very positive and still has that wonderful sense of humor. She is a “fighter” and together with support from her many friends and family we all can take comfort that this difficult time in Cindy’s life is only temporary. –Leslie
