Hi everyone! My name is Christa. A couple of weeks ago my mom, Cindy, was diagnosed with Invasive Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Cervix, Stage 2. We have organized this fundraiser in order to help ease some of the financial burdens that she and the family have already begun to face. I want to give everyone some background information on this incredibly strong and resilient woman, wife, mother, Mamie, and friend. She has been through many trials and tribulations in her life. Most people would not have kept standing or would have simply given up in many of her circumstances. As her daughter, I can say that she is the strongest person I have ever known. Just last year she was staring death in the eyes after having 3 heart attacks; which resulted in her having a double bypass open heart surgery. She kept fighting and never gave up. Here we are one year later and was finally on the mend. Only to be told that she was now going to be in the fight of her life as the diagnosis of Stage 2 Cancer was delivered.
My mom has always been a giving woman. If there has ever been a family member or friend that has ever needed anything; a place to live, food, money, caretaking, service work, or just a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen to, she has given it. She has taken care of so many people over the years and never expected anything in return. She has even taken care of others while her other medical issues kept declining. Now Cindy needs our help!!
Cindy works as much as she is able. Unfortunately, the cancer has made it very painful for her to endure the long shifts on her feet constantly moving. She has not been able to afford health insurance and has to pay everything out of pocket any time she needs to go to the doctor or pick up any prescriptions the doctors prescribe. Not only is my mom fighting her battle with cancer; she also has Diabetes, Celiacs Disease, and Liver Disease, her heart is not functioning as high as it should, and she also has a tumor in her brain that causes several side effects.
We are trying to raise enough money to help her pay for the expenses of going to the specialist's appointments, having several imaging tests performed, and paying for the many medicines prescribed. Cindy and her family have already started to feel the strain of medical expenses coming in. They have not even started the process of treatment for her cancer which could include: a full radical hysterectomy, surgery to remove any tumors, and radiation. All of these will require her to be off work to heal and recuperate. Her body will need that time but unfortunately, life and bills do not stop when we need it to. Any donations made will be greatly appreciated and used to help Cindy continue her fight. We understand what it means to "not have a dollar in the bank" and to live paycheck to paycheck. ANYTHING that you can donate, even if it is just a prayer and a share, can help my mom through this struggle. Thank you for taking the time to read, donate, and share!!!
