Hello friends,
Many of you know my mom, Cindy, and how much she has already been through. After my dad, Bob, passed away, Mom battled bacterial meningitis in 2012. Thirteen surgeries later, she was left paralyzed. Her health has declined over the years, and she recently had to move into a nursing home.
The transition has been rough. I’m working with a Medicaid attorney to get her long‑term care coverage, but the process is slow and expensive. While we wait, the bills keep coming:
- $4,000 for Mom’s January nursing‑home stay
- $7,000 in legal fees already paid, with more ahead
- Once Medicaid starts, a $700 monthly co‑pay we still need to cover
Mom’s entire Social Security check goes straight to the nursing home, so she has nothing left for these extra costs. Because of Medicaid rules she can’t accept gifts directly. I’m running this fundraiser and will use every dollar to pay her medical, legal, and nursing‑home costs on her behalf. The money never touches her personal account.
Our target is $16,000. Reaching it will let us cover the nursing‑home bill, the legal work, and that monthly co‑pay.
Any help financial or simply sharing this means the world to us. If you’d like to reach out to Mom, she’d love to hear from you at 5129180629.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
With gratitude,
Evan
