UPDATE 3/7/2021
On Tuesday she received a tracheotomy, she’s had some complications along the way but is dealing with it very well. There’s a lot of pain and adjustment but she is fighting and overcoming daily. Some of the doctors felt she needed the trach to give her throat time to heal properly and several of the doctors strongly disagreed with doing it. It looks like we made the right decision by doing it. We’ve received some good news today from the doctors, they believe she is progressing extremely well. They will be doing a swallow study tomorrow and if that goes well she may be getting transferred out to a rehab facility. I’ll give another update once she’s getting out. Again, I can’t thank everyone enough for all the support, love and prayers.
Our beloved Cindy Luikart has been in the hospital battling the side effects of Covid-19 over the past month. She has continued to fight hard, but this has been a devastating blow for her husband Steve, and their two sons. Daily phone calls back and forth from the hospital and not being about to see her has definitely taken a toll on her family. She has had days where she has remained stable, and her breathing has improved, and other days have been a tremendous struggle.
In light of this terrible state of affairs, we are remaining positive and are continuing to pray for her every single day. Our goal with this fundraiser is to help the Luikarts to focus on getting Cindy back on track and to allow Steve to focus on her health.
We have created this Go Fund Me account to help them with their monthly bills over the next few months of which include mortgage and vehicle payments, utilities, insurance deductibles, as well as any unforeseen medical expenses that lie ahead for their family as Cindy continues to fight through this horrible virus and the lasting effects it will have on her health.
