It is with extreme sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of a beloved nurse and friend Cindy Leddon. Cindy was one of a kind. She touched so many lives, not only in her personal life but in her nursing career. There was something so special about her kindness, generosity, love and care for others. Cindy’s ability to get a job done was unmeasurable. She had a way about herself that I admired so much as she was brilliant but oh so humble!!! Over the last few days words that I have heard that described Cindy were: nonjudgmental, loving, genuine, smart, favorite nurse, thoughtful, clever, helpful, hilarious, amazing, advocate, humble, angel on Earth.
Besides her love for her patients and New Orleans was the love she had for her twin boys. She loved them more than this world and she fought so hard for them. In fact, she fought so hard that she was on hospital bedrest for 3 months and that is where she fell in love with the Antepartum unit. She has done all types nursing from cardiac, ortho, transplant, and med/surg but she said high risk OB was where her love was. She had a way with the patients to let them know that she had been in their shoes and she showed them all how to be a warrior.
With the unexpected and sudden passing of our friend, the family is understandingly shocked by this loss. We are making this go fund me with the hopes of easing the burden of some of the cost of funeral expenses, and other expenses that will come up. We are hoping the funds can help with the needs of her soon to be 16 year old boys as well! All funds will go directly to Ken and the boys.
Cindy was one to give you her last $5 if she felt you needed it, now is our turn to give back and help Ken and her boys!!!! Please consider donating if you can, any amount would be appreciated.
With love and gratitude-
Shelli and all of her High Risk OB family
