CINDY - help save her property

I am asking for financial support for my situation here in Gili Air Indonesia due to the impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic. I have been notified by the Indonesian bank who I have the responsibility of a credit loan with, that they will repossess my hotel property if I cannot make my loan payments. Its been 12 months of no income and no tourist here on the island.

In 2016 I moved from Australia to design and create my retirement project Hotel in Gili Air Lombok Indonesia. Those who know me will clearly know the passion and dedication I have to whatever I create.

Previous to moving to the Gili Islands I was a crochet clothing designer, designing and manufacturing together with small women’s groups in Africa and Indonesia and Australia.

I sold my creative clothing designs in Eumundi Market Queensland for 30 years.

In August 2018 with still an unfinished Hotel project we were hit with the Lombok Earthquakes and that really set everything back financially and traumatically.

However with the support of friends and family and sheer determination I kept going to complete the Hotel. In mid July 2019 the pool was completed. Although the hotel still had many areas to complete we opened and I was able to experience a 6 month start of welcoming travellers from all over the world and I felt my dream of creating a beautiful boutique hotel could really be possible to finish. Then came the Carona pandemic… and everyone left the island , tourist fled back home and the choice had to be made again… to stay or give up. As we know every month became a new world decision of extending the time of closed borders to tourist.

For the next 12 months to the current date I found a new passion of natural soap making and natural skin products which I studied and practiced intensively every day and I eventually started selling my products to some of the western hotel owners who were still on the island. Just enough to keep my mind occupied and enough to pay for food.

I have now hired a lawyer to assist me and negotiate with the bank to not repossess the property due to the carona pandemic . I feel confident there will be a successful outcome to minimize the loan re- payments to something affordable for another year at least. Apart from that it’s keeping up with paying the basic electric and food expenses.

For those who know me and for those who just can support my determination of keeping on going I will be so grateful for any support financially to save my hotel. I know personally I have the endurance to keep going and I would love to reach my goal and I believe I can.

Of course once we can all start travelling again I would hope that the

Gili Islands are one of your desired destinations… it’s a beautiful tropical island with no cars, just walking, bicycles and the famous cidomo ( horse and cart taxi) It’s a beautiful friendly community where locals and westerners support each other especially seen through this difficult time.
