Cindy Cox-post kidney transpl care
Donation protected
I came to know this vivacious and loving person, Cindy, at the Nat'l MS Society office. You see, her husband Johnny was diagnosed with MS and often visited the office to help or get information about this disease. I also visited the MS Office often - in a different capacity - I am an avid fundraiser for the organization and both Johnny and I are members of Team Wingman - a team formed by my son for his friend with MS.
Over the last several years, Cindy has helped me in my fundraising campaign - always giving selflessly! She was diagnosed 3 years ago with Renal Kidney Disease and she always maintained her health for about 2 years and then numbers went from 20% functioning down to 8%. It was at that time her dialysis began.
Immediately she went on the Donor Transplant List. Johnny, her husband, tested and 'was' a perfect match but it was at that time he was diagnosed with MS - so the thought of saving his bride was lost!
I can't tell you exactly when the thought came across my mind to see if I could possibly help her - it was some time in August or September. I spoke with Cindy and said I was willing to get tested and that's where it began... That thought became reality!!
We have learned that after surgery she will be required to take some medication that will be necessary for at least 4-6 months and that's why I/ we are now starting this campaign for assistance. Please consider giving to their cause. Cindy and Johnny thank you for anything you can do!
