My name is Rochelle and I am fundraising for Cindy. I have known Cindy since grammar school and she has remained in Middletown, CT all her life. She married Mathew Cote and together they raised their two girls, Tracey and Tiffany. They were blessed with grandchildren, two of who still live with her. Cindy lost her husband, Mathew, 5 years ago to a motorcycle accident. She was devastated but having the grandchildren living with her helped tremendously. Cindy is a diabetic and this past August, she developed a sore on her pinky toe that would not heal after a manicure. The vascular specialist diagnosed her with stenosis, a narrowing of her veins. They tried to open her vein with a bypass but a blood clot unfortunately developed. The doctor tried to flush it out but she kept developing more. When they would remove one another developed. Cindy received blood thinners, which she is still on, but a clot got stuck in her foot. She was put into an induced coma hoping her body would heal. It did not heal however and Cindy ended up having two surgeries, one which removed part of her leg under her knee and the second, above the knee. Cindy was in a coma through all this and after 4 weeks or so, she was taken off the anesthesia. After a couple of weeks or so Cindy realized most of her leg was gone. She has been in rehab and is still there but hoping to be able to go home soon. She lost her job through all of this and will need extensive therapy and a prosthesis when she is able. Cindy needs many things in her home to make it handicap-accessible, thus the reason for this go fund page. She has very limited funds and could use your help. Would you consider helping Cindy at this time? She has been through so much and still has a long road ahead of her. Having such limited funds is just another burden for her to endure. We would love for Cindy to be able to have all that she needs in her home so she can function better. Thank you for whatever you can do to help ease her burden. God Bless You.
