Hi, my name is Grant, and I’ve set this up in loving memory of my mum, Cindy.

She was known and loved by so many across Stoke and Derby. Through her community work and her generosity to friends, she touched countless lives and left a lasting mark on everyone she met.

She had a special way of lighting up any room she walked into, and she will be deeply missed.

Over the past two weeks, so many people have reached out asking how they can help and contribute towards her funeral, service, and wake. It truly means more than I can say.

We have received quotes of approximately £2,600–£2,700 to give Cindy the dignified farewell she deserves. This cost will cover everything as part of an all-inclusive package, including her journey by hearse from the chapel of rest to Markeaton Crematorium, a short service for family and friends to attend, all associated fees, and the return of her ashes.

If we’re fortunate enough to raise more than the required amount, any additional funds will go towards holding a wake at The White Horse. Mum worked there for many years and built lasting friendships within that community. It feels like the right place to gather, share stories, and celebrate her life.

At the wake, we hope to provide food and refreshments, a memory book for guests to write in, and small keepsakes featuring her crafts and artwork. Something personal for people to take home and remember her by.

Without your support, we would have no choice but to opt for a basic council cremation with no service. That would mean no opportunity for friends and family to come together and say goodbye.
