My name is Benjamin Luke Williams, and I am creating this fundraiser in the hopes of helping an extremely poor Costa Rican family who has recently lost their Father/Husband/Provider, and could very soon lose their Mother. In the following paragraphs, I aim to share enough information so that we may see the reality of their situation and so that we may allocate enough resources for the family.

 

Almost 8 months ago I spent 3 weeks in a Costa Rican Hospital in the Carribean city of Limon. During that time I became close with the other people interned on the same floor. One man who I came to know and love was Carlos. His kidneys were failing and his prognosis was obviously not good; even with that, we shared much laughter and food together. His family would come to visit often and I would sit with them when I could and I quickly learned that Carlos' wife, Cindi, was sick too. She was full of worry for her Family, and her Diabetes was deteriorating her whole body.

 

I did not know what I could do to help. But I did do something, please see this video I made with Carlos when we were both in the hospital.

 

 

 

3 weeks after that video was made, Carlos breathed his last breath and passed away. Leaving Cindi and his two kids, Fabian and Francinie, without their father, husband or provider. Below I will share with you Cindi's current state in order to make known the urgency of the situation.

 

Cindi is constantly going to the hospital to receive dialysis and other treatments. The doctors say that she needs to stay in the hospital, but her neighbors are taking care of her children, so she feels she must be with them when she can. She hopes to be able to receive healthcare at home during this time, but her insurance does not allow for that. Please see the photos and videos below.

I am not exaggerating when I say that they have no money of their own at this time. All the food they eat is given to them by neighbors and sometimes organizations. The house they live in is noisy from traffic and does not allow for deep rest.

 

By chance, perhaps Divine Chance, I met this family and am organizing this fundraiser.

 

Cindi constantly talks of her faith. She knows that this situation is beyond her control and prays for protection for her family as she has no direct means of protecting them herself. Let us be an answer to those prayers! If you have the money to give, please do! Every bit of the money given here will go directly to Cindi and her family. I will supply videos and photos of the related events that follow as we provide the family with resources.

 

The idea is that Cindi can rest without worrying about the financial future of her children, they will eat and can feel free to explore this world.
