Cierra’s & Baby Kenai Denahi Healing Journey! ❤️

Hello I am the older sibling for Cierra, I am organizing this all for my sister! Little update on her, my sister is 25 yrs old, she is Navajo and Paiute, she grew up on the Tule River Indian Reservation Band Of the Yokuts!
She had just took her maternity time off from work (Slot Attendant at Eagle Mountain). She was 25 weeks pregnant and contracted the Covid-19 virus. This was October 9th She was at Sierra View For a day, we than took her to Kaweah Delta in Visalia. The virus had started to take its toll on her body and deteriorating her lungs. She got put on a ventilator. At 26 weeks she had to have an emergency c section and deliver her baby Boy, he was a little over 1lb. Kenai Denahi was transferred to valley childrens hospital in Fresno. Cierra than got put into a sedated coma and became medically paralyzed. Kaweah called us immediately and said she was not doing well, we all were so scared and it was the worst feeling ever! Doctors told us she could pass during the procedure and on her transfer and that it was very high risk due to her being in critical condition! She got accepted into UCSF, prior to her being transferred to San Francisco they had to come down and do the ECMO circuit procedure for her heart. A line in her heart and a line in her groan, this would allow a machine to filter her blood and pump oxygen back into her body. She went under and did the procedure and during all of that she had suffered cardiac arrest. They brought her back to life and than flew her out to San Francisco UCSF! We all followed her there and stayed a few days. ZOOM has been our only connection with her. She was having good days and some rough days. Doctors told us she is really sick and the best we can do is take it hour by the hour and day by day. We had ceremony for her, the next day Cierra woke up from her coma, doctors were a little shocked at how she was able to wake up and be so responsive. She was on high blood pressure medication, and a lot of medication that had her sedated. Through all of that she stayed awake and responsive. Baby Kenai Denahi (Baby KD) is currently now 3lbs 2oz, he just got a blood transfusion and is doing great ! On Nov 19 at 5pm, she went under another procedure and had her ventilator tubes taken out of her mouth and put in her trachea (front of her neck )! Doctors said she did great and was taken off her blood pressure medication and slowing getting off her sedation medication. This was a big break for Cierra and a very positive step for her. Disease control came in after 4 Covid tests and released her off Covid precautions. Which allows her to have 2 visitors a day. Day by day she is showing us slow progress and we will take it! She still has a long road of recovery but that’s fine. This is definitely a rough time for our family especially with holidays here and not having us all together it is getting hard. With in time Cierra will be home and will be able to hold her baby boy and live her life as a family like she always wanted.
So I am organizing this for Cierra on her behalf, these funds would be allocated to her daily life expenses, bills, traveling expenses to go see her when we can, gas to go see baby k in Fresno. I know some have reached out asking if we started one of these for her but it took some time. Anything helps and we are very thankful!
I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO HAS REACHED OUT TO OUR FAMILY THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA, IN PERSON, etc. TRUST ME YOUR MESSAGES DID NOT GO UN NOTICED. THANK FOR ALL THE CONTINUED SUPPORT AND PRAYERS WE APPRECIATE IT ALL! aho-
