For those of you who know me, you will know how much I value human service, specifically advocating for inclusion and trauma-informed care, my passion for teaching and singing, and my admiration for Alanis Morissette.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Cierra Schultz, I am a 26-year-old from Rhode Island, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Perspectives Corporation working with Youth and Families who are impacted by developmental and behavioral disabilities. I also teach at Salve Regina University in the Social Work Department both Trauma & Intervention and Social Problems: Race, Class, Gender. I value human service, specifically being an advocate for inclusion and trauma-informed care for all. I also have a passion for teaching future social workers/human service professionals and singing. I also have a strong admiration for Alanis Morisette.
Alanis Morissette is known for her incredible talent in song-writing/performing. What is even more incredible is the intelligence and passion she has for working as a strong advocate for mental health, eating disorders, trauma-informed practices, and human connection. She embodies everything of which I also aspire to be as a clinician and performer.
Richard Schwartz founded Inner-Family Systems work and collaborates this with healing trauma within ourselves. Something I use both professionally and personally every day.
I have the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Costa Rica this March to engage in a week-long retreat diving into all things Inner-Family Systems related with BOTH Richard AND Alanis for their event "Wholeness Within: A Journey of Self Leadership and Inner Harmony". This would be a profound opportunity to bring my two worlds together (professional icon and personal idol) to grow professionally and personally and bring this work back to the States in my everyday life. Of course, this comes with a cost. I am hoping you will help fund this opportunity for me to grow professionally and personally. It would be an absolute dream come true.
I have attached a link here to both Alanis and Richard Schwartz's work in this realm to understand a glimmer into why this means so much to me: https://ifs-institute.com/about-us/richard-c-schwartz-phd
Your consideration of making this a reality for me is greatly appreciated and your generosity would mean the world in helping me continue to fuel myself, to continue making effective change for the people I work with, including myself, daily.
Keep Being Fearlessly You!
