Going on for about 7 months, I've lost mobility and have been hospitalized a few times. I am struggling with CIDP. It is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that is limiting everyday life and causing difficulty with being able to work, as well as day-to-day tasks and functions. I have went from walking to a walker and now I am in a wheelchair.
I have been paying $520 a month out of pocket for health insurance after having to resign at my previous job through COBRA. Since I cannot work due to limited mobility in my legs and hands, as well as my speech being affected, I am undergoing therapy with multiple resources to eventually get some, if not all, of my independence back. I also receive monthly IV infusions called IVIG. I am receiving help to obtain disability benefits; however, that could take some time.
Basically, I need help, and most everyone that knows me knows I am not a fan of asking for help. I have 14 months I can be on COBRA left, and I’m struggling to make the payments as well as covering all my bills. Anything will help! Just don’t want to lose my insurance with all these opportunities and assistance I am currently being blessed with.
